NEW RELEASES - WEEK OF JUNE 30, 2009:
STONE OF DESTINY
Adventure - In 1296, England's Edward I claimed Scotland's Stone of Scone as part of his spoils of war, and took the 300-pound block of sandstone to Westminster Abbey. It remained there for centuries as part of St. Edward's Chair, upon which English monarchs were crowned—a not particularly subtle symbol of England's rule over Scotland. That is, it remained there until Christmas Day 1950, when a group of Scottish students set out to reclaim the stone from the Abbey. Ian Hamilton (Charlie Cox) hopes to enflame some national pride among his fellow students by making a dramatic gesture to reawaken their country's pride.
Despite having little money and even less experience. his infectious enthusiasm persuades several friends, including Kay (Kate Mara), Alan (Ciaron Kelly), Gavin (Stephen McCole) and Bill (Billy Boyd), to help. Hamilton's zeal even manages to convince prominent Scottish nationalist John MacCormick (Robert Carlyle) to assist with the scheme: break into Westminster Abbey in the wee hours of Christmas morning and "liberate" that most powerful symbol of Scotland's nationhood - The Stone of Destiny.
The CODE
SUSPENSE / CRIME - Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas and Radha Mitchell star in THE CODE, a story about Master thieves Ripley (Freeman) and Gabriel (Banderas) who join forces to pull off a $40 million heist of a lifetime wherein they rob an impenetrable vault of two Faberge Eggs. But a monumental robbery like this is never easy and rarely without competition.
Staying one step ahead of the NYPD, the FBI, the diamond merchants and the vicious Russian KGB crime boss determined to have the priceless eggs for himself, Gabriel and Ripley must find a way to pull off the heist and make it out alive. THE CODE is full of deceit, thievery and twists at every turn.

After escaping from prison, the criminal mastermind enacts his revenge, taunting Danny with a series of near-impossible puzzles and tasks...12 rounds...that Danny must somehow complete to save the life of his fiancée.
Ranging from tests of intelligence to Sisyphean tasks of endurance, Miles keeps Danny guessing at every treacherous turn. Each new round sends Danny hurtling through the city at a breakneck pace.
