Nov. 10 Release date. Brit. Political Comedy This film rates 95% Rotten Tomatoes.com, achieving almost unanimous praise amongst critics and may one day be for politics what Spinal Tap was for heavy metal.
A bumbling British government minister (Tom Hollander) makes a verbal snafu during a TV interview, inadvertently backing a U.S. war in the Middle East. The Prime Minister's venomous;y foul-mouthed communications chief (Peter Capaldi) attempts damage control as tensions quickly escalate on both sides of the pond. Soon the Brit minister's off-hand remark quickly spirals into an insurmountable mountain of conflict in what one critic described as a blend of Dr. Strangelove, This Is Spinal Tap and the Ricky Gervais Office series.
In stereotypically British fashion, director Armando Iannucci has parodied the lunacy of political disinformation. The humour is dry and you don't have to be a liberal to enjoy this smart, fast pace comed about diplomatic hijinks.

THE UGLY TRUTH

Abby's obnoxious TV star, Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), hosts "The Ugly Truth" segment that promises to spill the beans on what makes men really tick. But his outrageously racy, gleefully chauvinistic, "shock jock" style rubs Abby in all the wrong ways.
When Abby meets Colin, her suave, polite neighbour (and he's a single doctor!), she's determined to prove that she's not romantically challenged. So Abby takes Mike's advice during her promising new romance, putting the chauvinistic, shock-jock's provocative seduction theories to the test. However, the unexpected results stun everyone.
